About

Jack is a Registered Architect in multiple states.  He received his BA from Baylor University and his B Arch with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin.  Jack established JDM Associates—Architects/Planners in 1975 and has practiced under that name as a sole proprietor since then.

He established AE Support Group in 1987, providing a range of services to the Architectural and Engineering Communities, including accessibility consulting.  Since 1993, AE Support has performed thousands of plan reviews and inspections. Formal reviews and consultations include those for compliance with the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and associated statutes, regulations, and standards.

Jack’s expertise extends beyond consulting and leadership roles.  He has also served as an expert witness in both construction contract and accessibility litigation, bringing his objective insights and extensive knowledge to architectural contract disputes. His experience in these high-stakes situations further demonstrates his credibility and the trust placed in his professional judgment.

Jack was one of the first contract providers to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to do both plan reviews and inspections.  He was one of the first fifty to enter the Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) program.  Jack is a recognized Accessibility Coordinator, providing consulting services to both Title II and Title III entities for ADA Transition and Action Plans.

As a founding member of what is now the Accessibility Professionals Association (APA), Jack’s leadership skills were recognized when he served as President of the organization in 2018.  He was instrumental in guiding the development of the APA/ADA Specialist Examinations from 2015 to 2020.  He served as a subject matter expert (SME) for the development of the National Certification Examination and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Accessibility Professionals Accreditation Program, offering the only Nationally Recognized Certification for Accessibility Professionals.  Jack’s contributions to these organizations highlight his dedication to the industry and his commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
